Niederau

The village of Niederau lies in the heart of the Wildschonau valley. Because of its placement within the wonderful Tiroler mountains, you can enjoy a perfect vacation here where sports and relaxation mix seamlessly. The village of Niederau is situated at 828 m, surrounded by mountains up to 1,500 m. The Wildschönau is the highest valley in Austria. As well as Niederau, you can find the villages of Oberau, Thierbach and Auffach here. Niederau is an idyllic little village with a few restaurants, bars and stores/boutiques.

In the village centre, which you can easily reach by foot, you will find the beginner slopes, the ski-schools and the equipment hire shops. The adjoining gondola (cable car) takes more experienced skiers to the peak of the Markbachjoch (1,500 m), from where they can take the well-prepared slopes down into the valley.
